DO: be friendly, smile, CARE, be informative, ask questions, listen, always be open for questions, keep the activity in your booth moving, and look people in the eye.
DON'T eat in your booth, be on your phone/laptop (unless you are doing a demonstration), stare, or invade peoples personal space.
If your budget allows, be creative with your booth design. Don’t order a cookie-cutter design from the show that makes you look identical to a dozen other companies.
Your booth should represent your edginess, advanced technology, creativity, and professionalism.
To stand-out in the crowd, keep your tradeshow booth clean, organized, and implement pops of lighting such as edge lighting, kick-plate lighting, and backlighting.
Designate a Booth Captain so everyone knows who’s in charge and who to go to with questions.
No matter what everyone’s title is in the office, the Booth Captain is in charge while in the booth.
Extend your 3-day show into a 3-month marketing campaign. Reach out to attendees 1-2 months prior to, and 1 month after, the show.
Use various methods to get your messaging/branding out (such as: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, email, phone calls, your auto signature, and your website).
Be playful with your product, your logo, your booth, etc. The bottom line is to have fun and be playful. No matter what your age is, or where you are.
